As most OEMs continue to upgrade and standardize on modern CAD tools, it has become imperative for an automotive product development organization to make all its product data available in the OEM's design and development system. As a first step, this requires migration of all previously created data into this new system. Our expertise in this area will enable you to achieve a full migration in a timely and cost effective manner. Our solution to data translation includes the utilization of custom software, and allows you to overcome issues of original data quality, trim and stitch tolerances, trimmed and untrimmed slab surfaces, to produce quality NURBS surfaces within the C3P SDRC Ideas software.
We specialize in the import of data created in PDGS, although other CAD systems are also read. The data can consist exclusively of wireframe (lines and curves), or surfaces. Our finished results include fully trimmed NURBS surfaces. Even if the only source of data is paper drawings we recreate the data in the Ideas system to create new Master data. We produce fully stitched solid/surface models for engine components, trim, fascias, sheet metal panels, brackets, chassis components, castings and die components. We employ SDRC history based and parametric techniques to remodel or redesign components and assemblies, so that they comply with all quality guidelines for downstream usability.
